Model Search America Discovery MaShae Inspires

Hi Leah here:

MaShae is a wonderful inspiration.

Here's her story:

MY MSA HISTORY
I attended Model Search America in April 2006 and received 11 callbacks.. I followed up with every agency but I stayed independent for a while until I felt comfortable with an agency. After Model Search America, I took the first step of pursuing an acting career.....I moved to Los Angeles and have been busting my ass ever since.

MY RESULTS OF HARD WORK
*I was featured in Fall Out Boy Music Video "This ain't a scene, it's an arms Race"
*I was featured in Red Hot Chili Peppers Music Video "Hump de Bump"
*Commercial for Washington Mutual
*Commercial for Papa Johns
*I was in a commercial for Dove for The Megan Mullally Show
*I was featured in "Girlfriends"
*I was featured in "All of Us"
*I will appear in the upcoming film "Rush Hour 3"
*I am currently working on an untitled film, James Cameron, Director.

And I have upcoming projects as well and working on quite a few as we speak.

MY THOUGHTS

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication and many kids out there don't really know the real meaning of dedication......some of them think it's all about wanting it and that's it.......but that's not it........It takes some blood, sweat, and tears and sometimes falling down on your ass, but it certainly pays off in the end. And it doesn't happen over night. It's an awesome feeling to have a casting director call you up and say "you got the part" after 3 or 4 or more callbacks.

Thank you so much Leah

Model Search America Discovery Jeremy L.

Hi Leah here:

Hey Leah,
A few weeks after getting 16 callbacks at Model Search America, I decided to sign with Neal Hamil
here in Houston. I got scholarship to their modeling school, and have gotten my body into shape. I've done a few photo shoots for my book and worked at parties and runways. At this point, I am waiting for them to send me to NY, which should happen by the end of March. I will be with CLICKNY in new york for fashion and runway.
I had a great experience at my MSA event and would love to share my story at future events. Thank you for considering me.
Take care,
Jeremy L

Hayden takes Manhatten

Hi Leah here:
Another success story.

"My son Hayden, 8 years old, April 2007 received 2 call backs from NY agencies and 2 callbacks from LA agencies. He is currently working with the 2 NY agencies simply because they're logistically more feasible. He contracted with MMG and is also represented by Frontier Booking Intl.
We'll keep you posted!

Model Search America Success

Hi Leah here,
I thought that it would be great to share how things go sometimes with younger girls with hopes of making it as a fashion model. Here is what Model Search America talent Gina's mom wrote me this winter.

"Hey Leah,
We contacted Geoffrey Chapman's Agency and Tony Vavroch at Elite in N.Y.
We had positive feedback. Since Gina is only 14, we decided to hold off for a while until she matures a bit. We went with a local agency, Paige Parks in Houston, Tx and didn't get very far because of Gina's Volleyball playing. We couldn't be at 2 places at once. I think she's ready to try again and we will begin the process of picture sending as the agents suggested.
We had a blast at the April 06 meetings in Las Vegas and do not regret one minute of attending. Janice Dickenson was great as were all the staff at Model Search America.
We aren't finished with her modeling career and hope it can help her pay for college.
Thanks for e-mailing us. Jeanne Westmo.."

The story could be different because there was allot of interest in this girl, but here's a perfect example of a young girl and her mom who have decided to let her be a kid for a while and maybe wait till she is older. They would never have known that she had all the right stuff without their Vegas trip.

Model Search America Discovery - Megan Ewing

Past Discovery- Megan Ewing

A past discovery of Model Search America, Megan Ewing grew up in her small hometown of Brady, Texas. There Megan was a star athlete and competed in track and basketball. With her dark hair, freckled skin, beautiful hazel eyes, and tall stature (5’9”), Megan decided to answer an ad for a model search in San Angelo, which eventually led her to the MSA convention.

Originally, Megan signed with Clipse Management, but after a short period she switched to Marilyn Agency in New York. She started modeling with print work for magazines, but truly became a recognized success after her National ads for the Guess? clothing line. She took part in the Paul Marciano and Co. seasonal campaigns over the course of two years, and then decided to take a break from modeling in the United States. She took jobs modeling for catalogs in Europe until 2004, when she rejoined Marilyn Agency.

Megan is well-known for her work as a Guess? Girl, which started in the spring of 2001 and lasted over a year (until Fall 2002). She has been featured on the covers of several big-name magazines, such as Elle Girl, Fitness, GQ- Italy, GQ- Spain, Maxim, Glamour- Germany, and Glamour- Spain. Megan has also appeared on television in the Guess? Commercial for Fall 2002 and the Victoria’s Secret Swimsuit 2001 special. Some other work in Megan’s career includes modeling for catalogs such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Victoria’s Secret, Otto, and Newport News.

All of her success began MSA and her aspirations for a modeling career. Our upcoming event is filled with great opportunities to make your dreams a reality. See you there!

Model Search America Discovery - Sherri Shaum

Successful model-turned actress, Sherri Shaum got her start at a Model Search America convention near her home in Fettering, Ohio. She was discovered during high school, modeling mainly during summer breaks until she decided to move to New York and work full time with the New York modeling agency Images Management. Though, not the typical five-foot-ten model, Sherri’s natural beauty landed her plenty of jobs with catalogs, YM magazine, Glamour magazine, and WWD. She even worked for a period of time in the ‘European Market’.

Involved in the drama club in high school, Sherri was able to recognize her true passion-acting. Her career quickly diverted from Modeling to auditioning for roles in Film and Television. Her first big acting job was on the television series “Sunset Beach”, where she starred as the character Vanessa Hart from 1997 to 1999. Sherri was even nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in the 1999 Daytime Emmys. After her acting on “Sunset Beach”, Sherri continued to work steadily. Her next job was a regular role on Showtime’s “Beggars and Choosers”. She also appeared on episodes of “Girlfriends” (2000), “Charmed” (2001), and starred on the soap opera “One Life to Live” as Keri Reynolds from 2001 to 2003. In April of 2005 Sherri appeared on an episode of “Law and Order: Trial by Jury”.

Though modeling and acting were her main pursuits, the music industry has also played a role in Sherri’s career. In 1993 she was cast in music videos by hip-hop icons such as Exposé, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg. In the episode of “Charmed” that Sherri appeared in, she actually composed a song entitled, “Charmed Chant”. She is now a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).

Soon Sherri Saum will begin shooting a thriller entitled “Primal Scream”, which she appears in along with four other new faces in acting.

Model Search America provides young hopefuls with the valuable industry information necessary for a successful career in the Modeling / Entertainment industry. In addition gives you the opportunity to be showcased to the most notable agencies and casting directors in the industry. Sherri’s story is not unique for those who attend MODEL SEARCH AMERICA We look forward to seeing your dream come true.

Model Search America Discovery - Forrest Landis

At only eleven years old, Forrest Landis has already established a successful career in the movie industry. In 2003, Forrest charmed audiences with his freckles, red hair, and glasses in his roles as Mark Baker in the hit film Cheaper by the Dozen. However, he has also conquered the modeling industry as well, starring in commercials for McDonalds and Mastercard, and even appearing on the Life Cereal box. In fact, Forrest Landing was discovered at a Model Search America Regional Review in Chicago, which jump-started his path to fame.

Along with his work in Cheaper by the Dozen, Forrest has acted in several other box-office smashes, all within the past year, including Little Athens, The Skeleton Key, and Flight Plan. He can also be found on the small screen in multiple small roles. In February of 2005 he appeared in an episode or ER, in March he played a character named Seth in the TV series LAX, and in September audiences viewed him on Showtime’s new comedy series Weeds.

Forrest’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. In 2004 he received two awards at the Young Artists Awards for Cheaper by the Dozen: “Best Performance in a Feature Film” (for a Young Actor Age Ten or Younger) and the “Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film” award, which he shared with his co-stars.

Forrest Landis can be seen in the upcoming Cheaper by the Dozen 2, which debuts on December 21, 2005. He is currently filming for his role as Thomas in the movie Doubting Thomas.

The story of Forrest’s discovery and successful career is not unique for aspiring models who attend Model Search America conventions. MSA provides young hopefuls with useful information that is valuable in the entertainment and modeling industry, and gives opportunities with prominent casting directors and agencies. At Model Search America we look forward to seeing your dreams come true.
